  • Strathcona School – artful learning garden – Rocky Islands project providing a better outdoor learning environment and physical activity space for the school and neighbourhood.

 

Daycares

 

  • Urban Circle Training Centre – Makoonsag project which is a day care modeled on providing health and learning for the whole family.
  • Woman Healing For change, Manitoba Inc., Little Stars Playhouse – creation of a new stay & play daycare on Selkirk Ave. near McKenzie. (The city also provided the land for this facility which will have operations paid for by the Province of Manitoba.)

 

Activity Centres

 

  • Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. – opening of a second building to provide office space and programming for teenagers and young adults, assisting them to succeed in life.

 

Cultural Centres and Legions

 

  • Canadian Ukrainian Institute Prosvita – badly needed roof repair to protect activity spaces in this North End institution.

 

Churches

 

Miscellaneous facilities

 

  • North End Community Renewal Corporation, Merchants Corner – renovation of the Merchants Hotel and expansion of building onto vacant city property for a community drop-in centre, Community Education Development Association (CEDA) finish high school programming, University of Winnipeg Inner City Studies classes and office, and affordable housing for adults with kids trying to get their post secondary education.
