My friends and I who were teenagers in the 1970’s pretty well defined the North End as the area from the Red River to King Edward and the CPR mainline & yards to a number of streets past Inkster Blvd. In the Mynarski Ward the provincial Point Douglas area and the following neighbourhoods are part of the North End:
St. John’s Park & Luxton: Red River on the east; Redwood Ave. (north side) on the south; Main St. (east side) on the west; and McAdam Ave. on the north.
St. John’s: Main St. (west side) on the east; Redwood Ave. (north side) on the south; McGregor St. (east side) on the west; and McAdam/Copp/Matheson on the north.
Inkster Faraday: McGregor St. (west side) on the east; Redwood Ave. (north side) on the south; Arlington St. (east side) on the west; and Carruthers Ave. on the north.
Robertson: Arlington St. (west side) on the east; Mountain Ave. (north side) on the south; McPhillips St. (east side) on the west; and Carruthers Ave. on the north.
Mynarski: McPhillips St. (west side) on the east; Mountain Ave. (north side) on the south; Manitoba Hydro line on the west; and basically the alignment of Carruthers on the north.
